Need recipe for Irish brown sandwich bread, not soda bread
On a trip to Ireland a few years ago I fell in love with the brown sandwich bread, unlike anything I'd had here. Had a texture like it might have had bulgur or finely cracked wheat in it. It did not seem to be a soda bread at all, came from the store in the same size and shape as "regular" sandwich bread, and I have no reason to believe it wasn't a yeast bread.
But when I search for it everything I get for Irish brown bread comes up as soda bread. Does anybody have a recipe for this, and particularly what American ingredients to use? King Arthur sells an Irish Whole Wheat for brown breads, but they're out of it.
