Chestnut question

Hi everyone,
I recently tried a panettone with chestnuts from Williams-Sonoma and I fell in love with it. I wanted to make panettone for Christmas, and to include chestnuts in them. Unfortunately, I don't know too much about using chestnuts in cooking and baking. I only know how to roast them in the oven:S In fact, this year was the first time I ever tried chestnuts.
Does anybody know what would be the best way to prepare the chestnuts before using them in the panettone?
