Slow cooker recipes?

I'm cleaning out the basement and ran across the slow cooker my husband got me for Christmas a few years ago. It was a replacement for the cheap one I had that I used solely to keep chili warm at pot lucks but this one actually seems to have controls beyond "lukewarm" and "burn" like my old one. I'm thinking of giving it a whirl.

Anyone have good slow cooker they would like to share? I'm not a huge soup eater but stews and braises are favorites.

Thanks!

I made a similar post not too long ago that had some great responses, I've used quite a few of the suggestions already. I'll post the link incase you want to check it out

Thanks, I searched on "slow cooker" instead of "crock pot" and missed that one!

Make stock for your braises!

Also: seared lamb shank with tomato, parsnip, cilantro, potato, red onion, and chicken stock. Serve as a braise or shred the lamb for stew.

Becky's Roast and Vegetables

Ingredients

* 1 3 lb. bottom round roast
* Ground black pepper to taste
* Garlic powder to taste
* 1 Tbs. vegetable oil
* 2 10.75 oz. cans condensed cream of mushroom soup
* 1 1 oz. pkg. dry onion soup mix
* 5 carrots, peeled and sliced into 1-inch pieces
* 6 small new potatoes, halved

Directions

Season roast with black pepper and garlic powder. In a large pot, heat the oil over medium heat. Brown the roast on all sides for 20 minutes. Mix together the mushroom soup and the onion soup mix in the slow cooker. Place roast into the slow cooker, and arrange carrots and potatoes around the meat. Cover, and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours, stirring occasionally.
