Skipping school, acting cool--Dinner Monday Nov. 2?

We are all up in NH on a long weekend, had a great hike up Mt. Kearsarge so a big dinner is needed. Morrocan red lentil/white bean soup with mini turkey burgers, raw yellow carrots and snap peas, mini potato latkes w/ plain yogurt and applesauce with cherry blintzes for dessert. We are hungry!
Go Phils--come on-- don't break BigMan's heart!!

That sounds so good....I made some guacamole today, but I'm feeling too lazy to make a dinner that compliments it. So I'll probably just snack on it and some leftovers...my mama's bbq pulled pork, an artichoke from yesterday....and perhaps some mint chocolate chip ice cream. Random!

Penne and ragu bolognese with ground bison and slab bacon Mario Batali's way! Also, sauteed mustard greens.

Mac n cheese topped with fried chicken cutlets. Side of broccoli. Not very healthy, but the man likes it.

made pesto yesterday with pasta. putting the rest of it on a pizza today with veggie sausage and veggies. it's the boy's favorite. well, i suppose if I used real sausage it would be even favoriter, but that's not what's in the fridge.

leftover homemade chicken noodle soup with a thick slice of sourdough bread and butter.

we're having whole wheat penne with goat cheese, lemon zest, wilted spinach and butternut squash.

I'm too tired to cook tonight after fanning my doors for 30 minutes to rid the house of the smoke from the duck that I roasted last night. Gotta be a better way. Think I"ll poach it next time to render some fat out and then flash roast it for a bit. It was great though and there were no leftovers. Don't think I'll do this for Thanksgiving either. I think I'll make a salad for tonight.

I was gonna make latkes tonight along with applesauce...But I got home late and was pressed for time so I ended up making a meatball hero with the leftovers from dinner last night of ziti and meatballs...I had that along with a broccoli salad and a roasted beet salad...Latkes will probably be on tomorrow's night's menu and dhorst's Asian Orange chicken recipe will make the rotation this week!

Mmm, all those sound yummy. I made a warm quinoa salad with broccoli, chickpeas, asparagus, and a lemon vinagrette, with little feta sprinkled on top.

Homemade minestrone soup and tuna melts. Leftover Halloween candy for dessert!

Kabocha, etc. is on hold. We're still trying to finish up the 2 large pots of potato corn chowder soup my husband made last night for the two of us, plus Cajun turkey sandwiches.

@janaatwg--at least you will have nice biceps!

Reality of dinner--11/2
I turned on the flame under the soup too high burnt bottom--top still good had to scoop and microwave.I keep forgetting this is the good gas stove not the crappy dorm electric ditty.
Changed to fruit salad--mangos certainly have invisible pits! Gotta google how to figure that business out.
Everything else--good stuff. BigMan bought pretzels --maybe that was the problem with the Philly karma!! I forgot them the other night.

I made really big sandwiches of ham, pepper jack and avocados for a late lunch around 3pm. I was about to make dinner but DH and I are just not hungry.

So that's less than exciting. Had kind of a cruddy day - the daylight savings thing gets me every time and now I just feel all floopy.

Cheese torts in a creamy pesto sauce with chunks of leftover roast chicken and roasted red peppers, a salad, and homemade bread sticks.

these all sound so tasty! i've been feeling sick, so i tried to make something nutritious tonight that wasn't too involved . . . had kale with yellow onion and white beans in vegetable stock, toasted ciabatta bread, and roasted acorn squash, and lots of tea.

golden nugget squash soup, homemade whole wheat rolls (started the dough yesterday- low temp fermentation rocks) with goat cheese and honey, garlic-roasted spicy cauliflower with edamame. then bf opened me a bottle of Pilsener for winning 2nd in the pumpkin contest :-)

Caesar salad, homemade croutons, yum! Ravioli with just cheese and olive oil, and because it's just not semi-Italian without it, teriyaki chicken. what the hell.

I've already had dinner tonight (salad from a take-out salad bar), but for tomorrow night tuna melts with tomato soup sounds good : )

Beef barbacoa with all the fixings (shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatos, jalepenos, sourcream, salsa, guac, onions), white rice and black beans.

I made "jambalaya" (in quotes, because I'm sure it's not authentic and I fully made the recipe up) with chorizo (I know, already wrong) and leftover chicken. Came out suprisingly good.
