Serious Eats: Talk
Need ideas and inspiration for the weekend's leftovers.
I've got several ideas already lined up for tonight's and tomorrow's dinner, but could use an "idea boost" for the weekend's leftovers.
I've got a couple of pounds of each- herb encrusted roast pork, smoked turkey and ham. Also have several loaves of bread and rolls- sour dough, Italian, marable rye and take-&-bake French bread sticks.
Tonight I'm making hot pork and gravy sandwiches on toasted buns along with some vegetable sides. Tomorrow I was thinking of a ham-strata style gratin or casserole.
Have tons of winter squash, kale, carrots, turnips, onions and potatoes on hand. Fresh mushrooms too. Plenty of fresh herbs on hand too (sage, cilantro, parsley, thyme, oregano, rosemary). Pantry is stocked so don't hestitate to toss the ideas out there.
I may be doing some freezing as well, but it would be great to prep some things instead of just freezing them.
