Lunch in Providence RI?
Tomorrow I am taking a student of mine to visit Brown. We would like to have a delicious, not too expensive or fancy, preferably ethnic lunch. Any suggestions?

Sakura on Wickenden St. is close to Brown. Really good Japanese, they don't go overboard with trendy decor and just focus on really good food. If they're on the menu the udon noodles and don buri bowls are great and the sushi is fabulous too.

Oops forgot to mention too that Sakura is totally affordable, I remember most of the lunch things being under $10.

Yay Brown! (I'm a current student.) If you're looking for solid ethnic food, probably the easiest and best bet is Kabob and Curry on Thayer Street - it's good Indian food, relatively cheap. East Side Pocket is reliable falafel/gyros but pretty middle of the road. It's true that there's great Japanese on Wickenden street - but that's about a mile walk, which obviously is manageable but if you're just visiting it might be a bit off the beaten path.
Go for K&C. I hope you love Brown!
