Great take out from Dinosaur BBQ, Harlem...
Coming down from Westchester to visit my kids on the UES this past weekend we surprised them with a 'Deluxe Family Stylin' Package' from Dinosaur BBQ: 1 whole BBQ chicken, 1 full rack of ribs, 1 lb. BBQ pork or brisket (we opted for the brisket), 3 pints of homemade sides (we chose their baked beans with pork, cole slaw and special Creole corn), a platter of honey hush cornbread, and a bottle of their tangy BBQ sauce. The feast came out to under $60. with tax and tip; there was hardly a wait; it was packaged very well and held up fine during our delivery to the East Side.
We were 4 people and there were leftovers even after two hefty courses each. It turned out to be a terrific deal and we just wanted to share with Serious Eaters...
Personally, I believe Dinosaur is one of the best BBQ venues in town...What do you think?

I have always enjoyed Dinosaur BBQ but I think my favorite in NY has to be RUB BBQ. I think its the paper plates and the slice of white bread you get that reminds me of real texas bbq. I haven't been to RUB in a while. I'll have to go next time i'm in the city

Dinosaur is good but Fette Sau in Brooklyn is far better and that's coming from a former Rochesterian.

Dinosaur is supposedly coming to my neck of the woods (Troy, NY), real soon. Hope it's as good as advertised, I'm looking forward to it.

I think Dinosaur originated in Syracuse (or Rochester, but definitely upstate). Their sauces are sold retail now.

I've been to the one on 125th and thoroughly enjoyed my full rack of ribs. Wasn't crazy about the sides or cornbread, but the meat's what matters most at BBQ joints anyways.

My husband is now obsessed with Dinosaur BBQ--we've been there twice on the recommendation of one of my colleagues, and it's now one of our go-to places to bring friends when they visit for the weekend.
My personal favorite is the pressed Cuban sandwich, which is joy between two smushed pieces of bread.

Dinosaur barbecue did in fact originate in Syracuse, so I always go there for a taste of home. My father also insists on going every time he visits from Colorado, where they recently moved from Syracuse. Next time you are there try the wings, which are arguably some of the best in New York, and the sandwich specials are an amazing deal. I also love that it is super easy to park around there.

i want to go up there right now and get some, it would only take me like 20 minutes from work. these are bad thoughts. what sauce do youg et on them?

First of all, allot, they are plump and meaty...I do like them smothered in hot sauce, though the milder sauces are also flavorful. Now I'm getting the hankering too...
