Eating a Fried Fish that's Still Alive

Curt Cobain said, "It's ok to eat fish because they don't have any feelings," but after seeing this on the Huffington Post website I felt very uncomfortable:

I know, I know it's just a fish and I eat pigs and cows and chickens and all kinds of other things that are much cuter, but this story really disturbed me for some reason. It made me sad and uncomfortable and it made me wonder if this is ok- whatever that means.

What do other Serious Eaters think?
