Where do you put condiment sauce on your burger.

Am I wacked or what? Since burgers can be served many different ways, I just don't like ketchup on top of the burger where the cheese and letuce is. I like ketchup or BBQ sauce on the bottom of the patty so it blends in with the meat not the salad. Sorry, I don't like mustard and mayo/dressing on the top bun is ok if with LTO. So where do you put your sauces on your burger??

I'm with you. I put ketchup/mustard or A1 on the meat side and lettuce and tomato on the cheese side.

Ha, I have you beat. I hate condiments on my burgers (maybe a little mayo on both sides to stop the bun from getting soggy) Instead, I mix mayo and ketchup and a lil mustard, and dip the burger in that. I find its actually less messy that way, and when I'm feeling like a fatty, I can get more sauce per bite!

I was actually annoyed the other day when I ordered a burger the other day because it was prepped what felt to me to be upside down. The patty was set on the top bun and the lettuce, tomato, and pickles were set on the bottom bun.

By the time I got to my office (when I found this out), I didn't want to move the patty to the bottom bun. I have no idea why. *boggle*

So I ended up putting my condiments on the bottom bun, then placed the lettuce, tomato, and pickles on the bottom bun, then the patty, and the top bun on top.

I prefer to put mayo, ketchup, and mustard on the top bun, above everything.

Cassaendra, I think they were lazy in the prep. They might have realize that they fixed it upside down, but thought everything is there who's going to care? No pride in their product.

@beanalicious I am so with you!! I only like ketchup and I am a dipper! I detest soggy bread.

I love to dip my burgers! I put a light coating of mayo on the top bun, then dip the burger in ketchup as I go. And I have to have mayo and ketchup on the side to dip my fries in.

I love the way mayo mingles with tomatoes and the way it adds creaminess to the crush and water of lettuce. I'm with you on that @thecruzer2000. Mayo and mustard go with the lettuce and tomato and the tomato-based sauces to compliment the meat go beneath the burger, so it hits the palate with the meat.

Here's the build, top to bottom:

Top bun

Ketchup

Cheese

Patty

Tomato

Lettuce

Mayo/sauce/wtvr

Bottom bun

Keep in mind that when you take a bite of the burger it gets flipped over in your mouth within a couple chews.

For me, it's as follows:

Top bun
Mayo
Mustard
Pickles
Cheese
Bacon
Patty
Mayo
Bottom bun

Pretty standard, but still pretty good. I also like to dip my burger in mayo as I eat it. Some are horrified by this.

I take a syringe and inject the bbq sauce straight into the burger.

Gosh, I wish I did... That sounds delicious.

I love these threads that make me think about something I've always taken for granted. I build from the bottom up, and all my condiments go on top. They vary, but this is typical.

Top bun
relish
mustard
ketchup
cheese
patty
bottom bun

Mustard, relish, BBQ sauce (sometimes) and sliced onion on the bottom. Meat w/melted cheese comes next. Top with bacon and/or sauteed mushrooms (opt.) then a slice of tomato, lettuce leaf (not shredded) and only mayo on the top bun. Keep the ketchup far from my creation..!

for me it's a little bit of mayo on each bun, onions and pickles on the top. Ketchup is put on the plate for dipping.

i only put cheese, lettuce, tomato and ketchup on my burger. the ketchup is always on top, but i have to put it on the actual bun. except those times when i decide to use only half the bun for my burger, in which case my burger goes bottom bun, ketchup, patty, tomato, lettuce...

I dip as well. If there's decent lettuce and tomato to be had, they go on top of the cheese, which is on top of the patty. Throw a little dijon or spicy brown mustard on the bottom, dip in ketchup and mayo (my standard fry setup).

only dark mustard for me, spread on the top and bottom bun.
well dried lettuce is okay, but no tomato-i despise wet bread.

i start at the end and roll it all the way up.

If you dip your burger, do you cut it in half for eazy dippin' or dip it whole?

Whole, unless for some reason the sandwich is gigantic.

I dip mine whole as well.

I always cut my burgers in half...I usually only eat half.

I like to pan fry my favorite burger in a little melted butter, so it stays juicy, then I sop up some of the melted butter and drippings from the pan with the bottom half of a lightly-toased bun. I add a little ketchup or BBQ sauce spiked with hot sauce onto the bottom bun, so that it hits my tongue first whin I bite into it. Then, on goes the cooked patty seasoned with sea salt and fresh ground pepper, a thin slice of Virginia ham and American cheese (inspired by Roy Rodger's Double-R Bar burger), then, thinly sliced onion, sliced sour pickles, and a thick slice of ripe tomato. I generally don't put mayo on top of the tomato, but would not be opposed to it. I love mustard, but never on hamburgers, and lettuce seves no purpose.

Very tasty! Making my mouth water. I like your burger salpico!

Here's my order:

cheese, bacon, tomato, lettuce

mayo, red onion, pickles

I like dijon mustard on the bottom and ketchup at or near the top. Ketchup causes slippage when it's right on top of the cheese and below LTO or mushrooms, so I'll put ketchup directly on the toasted top bun usually.

oh poop.
my references for bun and patty didn't show on my comment.
well the cheee, bacon tomato and lettuce go on top of the patty and the mayo, red onion, pickles go on the bottom.

My order:

bun
mayo
a dab of ketchup
lettuce
tomato
burger
cheddar cheese (not always)
bacon (not always)
mayo
another dab of ketchup
bun

BTW, I like my burger crispy on the outside and just barely pink on the inside. I guess you could say medium-well.

My O.C.D. tells me that the L, T and mayo must touch each other in that order.
