What's cookin,' good lookin'? Dinner Saturday night 10/3

I just had to start the thread because I am so excited about dinner tonight. I just put a turkey breast into the oven for Club Sandwiches. Later, I will make some bread and microwave potato chips (Kitchn Therapy). The beverage will be apple/ginger juice-juiced by me! Dessert will be something chocolate-y. The people and BigMan will be so happy. (Can you tell I am still on a Target/Trader Joe's high?) Happy cooking!

We're having a little blast of Indian summer, so I'm firing up the grill and having chicken souvlaki and a greek salad made with some of the lovely tomatoes, cukes, peppers, and onions I got at the farm stand this afternoon. Currently enjoying the smell of pumpkin cooking in the oven to make pies for the little person who lives in my house (my ten year old daughter is a pumpkin pie fiend!)

Its a gross and slightly rainy day today. I think I'm going to throw together a hot and sour soup that I've been craving for a long time. (3-4 kinds of dried and fresh mushrooms, bamboo shoots, tiger lilly, vinegar, lots of pepper)
Plus some leftover oregano-spinach "pesto" over served with some sort of carb, whenever I decided what I want.

I just made sangria.....now that's what I call dinner!

@machellebelle - I'll be over with the souvlaki and salad around 6 OK? (grin)

pasta with bechamel

We just got back from the Mc Quaid Cross Country Invitational, so it's going to be subs or appetizer type stuff. Our team, Liverpool Boys Varsity won the Invitational, YAY!

Scalloped potatoes. It's a miserable gray day, I deserve it. Haha. Actually, testing a recipe for Canadian Thanksgiving.

Lazy dinner for one at thehostess home tonight: roast beef/swiss/escarole wrap with my first honeycrisp of the season.

LOL it was a beautiful day here, grey, rainy, and in the 50s/60s...wish it was like this every day. We walked around a lot and stopped in for fattoush, shish tawook, shawarma, and grape leaves.

Brined a small-ish turkey with a jerk spiced flavor brine, then lightly smoked it on the grill. Served it with garlic mashed potatoes, turkey gravy and steamed new carrots with butter and a dab of maple syrup.

Now we have lots of turkey for for sandwhiches, enchiladas, mole, smoky corn and potato chowder and just plain old nibbling.

White bean and squid salad from the Oct. issue of Bon Appetit.

Small piece of Marcella Hazen's lasagne with bechamela sauce and a small green salad ~ really hit the spot after two+ weeks in the hospital!

@Cassaendra - Haha. You're just trying to be difficult aren't you. :)
