What desserts do you crave?

Could be cookies, bars, cakes...anything sweet. What do you crave most?

36 Comments:

hmmmm. don't know that I do. When strawberries are in season I have a lot of shortcakes with strawberries and whipped cream, but I don't bother to make it out of season with store strawberries.

At this very moment, thinking about desserts, I am craving Devils's food cake with 7 minute frosting, but I couldn't tell you when I last had some.

My absolute favorite dessert is a Vietnamese pudding that is made of mung bean and tapioca served cool. It has coconut milk in it. Sometimes it has azuki, seaweed, and/or jack fruit. Some restaurants serve it with ice so it becomes a drink.

Bread pudding is a very close second.

Chocolate pudding. Lots of it. I have migraines occasionally and it is consistently the one thing I want to eat when I am suffering.

creme brulee
derby pie

brownies
butterscotch pie
rice pudding

Creme brûlée or snickerdoodles.

Chocolate pudding
Egg custard
Creme brulee

And with the holidays approaching, a glass of spiked eggnog after dinner is nice.

Brownies
Cookies
Any chocolate/peanut butter or chocolate/caramel combo

Anything gluten-free chocolate, anything gluten-free pumpkin, vegan ice creams and sorbets, and cappucino meringues... but they must be home-made, and from scratch.

None around? Just a lump of the best dark chocolate will do, thank you!

a small scoop of vanilla bean gelato with a shot or two of espresso poured over it.

I'm not big on desserts, but when I'm in the mood for something sweet it's got to be chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. True, it's chocolate overkill, but the urge comes so rarely I've really got to do it up when it hits.

Cheesecake - nuf said.

Pumpkin Cheesecake

My three all-time favs -- chocolate mousse (the kind made with egg whites, it's the best) , crepes suzette, coconut meringue pie. Ice cream just doesn't do a thing for me, weird huh?

I don't really have much of a sweet tooth, despite the copious amounts of baked goods that I make all the time, but I have a weakness for gingerbread cookies. Thank goodness that time of year really only lasts for a couple of months, or I would likely be twice the size of me. :)

Pecan Pie - my absolute fave dessert
Layer Cake - right now I am craving pumpkin spice cake with cream cheese icing.
And of course, ice cream.

I am craving a slice of the Dutch apple pie I made last week. We shared the pie with company, so I ate only a slice and a half. I soooo want another slice of that pie.

Chocolate cake. no icing.

fresh fruit with home made whipped cream
angelfood cake
kinder® bueno bars (mmmmmmmm)
twizzlers pull n peel
wine gums

Chewy chocolate chip cookies that just a bit crispy around the edges. I haven't had a perfect one in a long time so maybe that's why I'm craving it.

a big vanilla ice cream sundae with hot fudge, whipped cream, and walnuts on top of a piping hot brownie.

apple crisp
soft chocolate chip cookies
anything peanut butter and chocolate

Creme brulee
Cheesecake
Brownies

All of them.

Just kidding. I love cake. Especially white wedding cake with fabulous buttercream frosting. I think the love makes it taste better.

apple pie with cheddar cheese and vanilla ice cream

one of my absolute favs: the cornflake chocolate chip marshmallow cookie at Momofuku's
Chikalicious Cupcakes
Cream puffs-especially Beard Papa's
I eat the fluffernutter sandwich like dessert-love it!
Decadent chocolate brownies with frosting and nuts
A good chocolate chip cookie with walnuts
soft gingerbread cookies
my coconut macadamia cookies --
Lemon meringue pie
dark chocolate cake with a good sour cream frosting
I could go on and on but those are my favs.

rhubarb anything...

Lemon meringue pie.
Flan or creme brulee.
Frosted brownies.

Tiramisu (can't spell), chocolate anything (mousse, cake, ganache, etc), strawberry shortcake

New York style cheesecake. nothing better.

Nineteen or twenty years ago after staying at the summer home of a friend of mine in Little Compton, RI we stopped for ice cream in Tiverton, RI before driving back to CT. I had the best pistachio ice cream ever. It was the first time I'd seen pistachio ice cream that was NOT that unnatural green color that is oddly associated with pistachio ice cream. It was so delicious and I've come close but never tasted an ice cream as rich and delicious as the one I enjoyed that day.

raspberry rhubarb pie, maple whoopie pies, maple cotton candy, candy apples, smores, my boyfriend's mom's cheesecake, grapenut ice cream, orange pineapple ice cream, apple crisp...oh so many things

A Krispy Kreme coconut cream fried pie heated and slathered with melted butter and crowned with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. It's so good it'll make want to slap your sister.

Sponge cake....I have a thing for sponge cakes. Filled with pastry cream and topped with chocolate for Boston Cream Pie.....Filled with whipped cream and strawberries and dusted with powdered sugar.....Rolled into a roulade and filled with chocolate mousse.....yumm. I love me some sponge cake!

Oh, I forgot this one--it's a bit low brow, but I'll confess. Love the Pepperidge Farm coconut layer cake that is in the freezer section in the store. I am in the wedding industry, and have had TONS of wedding cake and this stuff tastes better than most wedding cakes out there. Nice moist crumb and the frosting is excellent. Not sure about their other cakes, but I crave this one!
