Walk the Wok. Talk the Talk. Dinner Saturday, Oct. 10th.

I made the pumpkin turkey chili that was posted this week for dinner. Just had a little bowl to get fortified for two soccer games/two football games. It is YUM. Sweet, bean-y, with an after you swallow pow (yup, I went crazy for the cayenne!). Perfect for fall.

I just took lasagna out of the oven, it's a dish I haven't had but have been craving for a long time.

We're all rather ill here, so I'll be making chicken noodle soup as soon as the ingredients show up.

@dmcavanagh--my husband was craving lasagna a couple weeks ago, and it really hit the spot. Something about fall that triggers that need for comfort food.
@LunaPierCook--hope you guys feel better soon. I'm sure the chicken soup will help.

I'm torn about what to have tonight. We're going hiking soon and I'm tempted to throw some charcoal in the car with burgers and dogs and have a cookout there after the hike. The other option would be chicken with vermouth, capers and lemon served with rice for a late dinner. 15 year old son will probably say BOTH! He's a bottomless pit these days.

i just finished putting together a small pot of chili to have. I think I might have to go get buttermilk so we can have cornbread along with it.

Grillin' a pork tenderloin. (still thinking about how to season it-- probably rosemary and/or lemon thyme and garlic) Steaming some new potatoes with parsley-chive butter. Have a ton of cremini and portobellos, so they're getting saute'd in butter with a splash of vermouth. Steamed garden fresh green beans.

The chili's and lasagne sound mighty good!

I'm thinking chicken curry pilaf tonight. Maybe omu-rice style? Maybe not. And some kind of easy soup... but we'll see how hungry I am and how much energy I have to cook tonight.

Leftovers. It was 91 today and I am not in the mood to cook.

nice thick pork chops, roasted pears - sweet potatoes and string beans from the garden..... they're still hanging in there.

Spaghetti with homemade puttanesca sauce & big green salad with all types of veggies and really great crusty Italian bread...

Baked maple-soy arctic char with leek fritters.

Just got back from BD's Mongolian Barbecue.

While serving rice sticks is a nifty idea, do yourself a favor and steer clear from them. As most of you know, rice noodles cook quickly. By the time the raw ingredients are cooked on the grill, the noodles have turned to mush. This should have been quite obvious, but I didn't think about it when I filled my bowl.

We got 6 inches of snow here today, so it felt right to make bison pumpkin chili (with lots of chiles, and cocoa powder).

It's late and I just logged on to read and saw that it was 91 today @finsbig fan's house and had a little temp envy. Then I saw that @toasteebagel is under 6' of snow. My cloudy, drizzly 60 seemed great compared to you guys. Hope it is better tomorrow

We ate out in Philly. I had great lobster bisque and a salad with duck. My main was a superior bass and perfectly cooked zucchini and yellow squash. The best part, though, was dining with friends.

It is fall here in mt part of WA, 50s during the day and low 40s at night. Today, I put some smoked sausage, carrots, potatoes, cabbage and the last of the fresh green beans (sniff) into a Dutch oven and boiled away.
