Site not loading much of the time
About half the time in the past few days, trying to load the site's main page gives me a green gradient, an ad at the top, and nothing else. Sometimes, after several refreshes, I can get it to load, and sometimes not.
The only error I can find is that one of the 1X1 jpg images used for formatting has a bogus URL, and I can guess that sometimes, depending on what ads and other stuff are on the page, the lack of that image stops the whole page from rendering.
The wrong URL is http://adimages.scrippsnetworks/1x1.jpg (I imagine it's supposed to be http://adimages.scrippsnetworks.com/1x1.jpg as there is no top-level ".scrippsnetwork" domain).
Has anyone else been seeing this?

I am having the exact same problem! It has been going on every day for about two weeks now. Very frustrating! Please post to let us know if you find out what the problem is and how to fix it. Adam . . . any ideas???

I had that problem when I posted on the Pizza: A cure for the blues? thread the other day.
When I mentioned it in the thread, no one else had that problem so I figured it was just my comp since I haven't seen that problem since.

I've also been having the same issue for a few weeks. It's becoming so bad that I can't peruse SE on my work computer now, because the pages aren't loading at all.

What's REALLY frustrating is when you have gotten into SE and have been reading a few posts, and you click on a new topic and BAM! everything just totally is gone! It's like being in the middle of a really good filet and somebody grabs your plate away : (

It's loading reasonably well today, but I can pinpoint the problem more clearly because it's still failing to load. It's in the "skybox2" div, in the ad that (on the page I'm viewing) for "Unique Food Trends from around the world, brought to you by The International Culinary Schools at the Art Institutes."
The site calls a complicated URL to get the image for the "bite" taken out of the upper-left corner of that ad. When the URL resolves on the Scripps Network servers, it eventually winds up at the wrong URL, the one at the domain "adimages.scrippsnetwork" instead of "adimages.scrippsnetwork.com". It looks like the folks providing the ad dynamically are causing that problem. I can only speculate as to whether it's the key problem that stops the whole page from rendering.

There was an issue with an ad that y'all have all identified which is now resolved. Is anyone still having trouble with page loads today?
