Freefoods NYC: the food snob

Posted by wenwenM, October 6, 2009

I was initially drawn to Freefoods because I am easy to fall into the "gourmet" deli / healthful / organic trap. And take a step back, their food offerings are solid, fresh, creatively thought out and well executed. However, poor service consistently sabotages my experience. I usually order Freefoods for delivery and here are a few of my top issues with the service: one, super looooooooog wait, one time it took them 1.5 hour to deliver market table/salad bar stuff (all premade) over a few blocks' area, and when i called in to inquire the sales person insisted all their foods are made to order, talk about dishonesty to customers!; two, negligence. when they run out of certain items, chances are they won't call to inform you and just skip the stuff in your order entirely; third, bad customer care. for one of my orders i specified to pick up the next day, and when i went for pick up the manager insisted my order was delivered the previous night (which of course I didn't receive) and treated me as if i was a cheat! for the $$$ you pay you'd expect at least to be treated with respect and decency, am now totally fed up with the pretentiousness of this place!
