Night before Thanksgiving meals
I've volunteered myself to cook dinner for 15 in a beach house the night before Thanksgiving. Now what the hell do I serve?! I'm thinking chili and cornbread...? We're doing ham, turkey, and meatloaf on the big day so those are out.

What if you did breakfast for dinner since you probably won't be having a big breakfast on Thanksgiving day???

Antipasti
Spaghetti or penne with meatballs or meat sauce. (make ahead)
Big bowl of salad
garlic-herb bread
wine
fresh fruit, cheese and biscotti for dessert (peeled, sliced oranges with a little sugar and Grand Marnier?)
All can be prepper or made ahead and are easily tranported.
Have a wonderful time!

@sammie - I thought of that, but I'm not the greatest breakfast cook.
@CJ McD - That sounds lovely, but I forgot to mention that it's basically our exact menu for Tuesday night! Except the wine and GM, as none of us drink.

Fried seafood!
It's really easy and very beachy - a final foray into summer before the winter holidays set in.
If you can get your hands on fresh shucked clams, then great. Scallops and shrimp - or whatever seafood is common on your coast. Dunk into milk, toss lightly with a mixture of flour, corn flour, salt, paprika, and a little cayenne. Deep fry in 350 degree oil all it the same pot, drain on paper towels and serve with potato salad, a green salad and and maybe a couple of other sides. You could do french fries and onion rings while you have the oil going.

How about planked salmon filets?
Steamed baby red potatoes with parsley butter
Grilled aparagus (or steamed)
Grilled shrimp scampi
Angel hair pasta (to soak up the lemony, white-wine, garlicy-buttery sauce)
Grilled garlic herb bread
Big salad
Buttered steamed broccoli or vegetale medley
Grilled whole beef tenderloins
chimichurri sauce
Saute'd mushrooms
Roasted potatoes
Veg. of choice
Bourbon-maple glazed pork tenderloins
Baked potatoes with fixin's
green beans
Pot roast (easy- crock pot or oven) and garlic mashed potatoes
Maple glazed carrots
Grill pork tenderloins (with Mexican style seasonings)
or shredded slow cooked pork, beef or what the crowd will like
Serve with build your own taco bar sides. (cheese, beans, lettuce, tomaotes, guacamole, flour and corn tortillas, etc.)
I make a really simple breaded pork chop that bakes in the oven and is delicious. Beat a couple of eggs with a little water. Mix bread crumbs, grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning blend, S&P.
Dip chops in egg, then in crumb mixture. Place on greased baking sheets and bake at 350 deg. for about 45 minutes (depends on thickness of chops) Pop potatoes in the oven along with the chops. Or make a potato gratin. Two kinds of veg. Dinner
Serve baked apples and ice cream for dessert
What's your budget?
A prime rib is really, REALLY easy, but a bit on the pricey side.

Our family tradition is a blow out, ethnic, usually spicy hot meal. It's a chance to show off cooking skills, take chances, fool around, and then on Turkey Day we settle down and act responsibly. Sort of...

We always do lasagne. It is easy its quick and I make it on tues night.

Make a big ol' mess of BBQ ribs on the grill.
Serve with the traditional sides.
It would be a fine contrast to Thanksgiving day's meal.
