Where exactly is the Indigo Hotel and what kind of food do you like/ are you willing to experience? That may help us ChiTowners direct you where you want to go ... =)

It's for my wife who is traveling there on business and I assured I would get some good ideas on where to eat from from the other readers of SF.
She'll eat just about anything, just no Sushi.

Hmmm. Sounds like she'll be near the Streeterville area, roughly. Well, I would suggest maybe Bistro 110 for a sit-down type place; Food for Life is in Watertower Place, and is pretty good. There's a place called Tempo which is great for breakfasts (huge omelets, pan fried potatoes, greek toast -- YUM). If she ventures south on Michigan, she should try the Park Grille at Millennium Park. There's also a fun fun place that opened recently called the Reagle Beagle (yes, just like in Three's Company) with great burgers and drinks (and Pop Rocks!). And if she's willing to go a little west, she should try Perry's Deli. But don't have your cell phone on while you're in line.

Well, Table 52's right there. That's not terribly casual though--she may need a reservation.
I'd say it depends whether she wants a relaxing meal, or she wants to experience Michigan Avenue. If it's the former, I'd say someplace in OldTown--Topo Gigio or Bistro Margot, maybe. The latter? None of the places along Michigan Avenue do much for me, I'm afraid. Pizza at Giordano's or Gino's East? Sarah's Candies is good for dessert or coffee, though.

Thanks to both of you. She's at Table 52 right now and loving it, too bad I'm home with the kids.

Once again thanks, here's what I got from my wife.
"Wow, we had the best meal ever at Table 52, just around the corner from our hotel. Fabulous recommendation. They usually only take reservations, but let us in and said we can't leave the city without eating there."

How nice of Table 52!
For an out-of-the way place with lovely atmosphere and good food at a reasonable price, I recommend Dao on Ohio.
