Brand/type of canned tuna

I am going to make the Spaghetti con sugo di tonno recipe on this site for dinner tonight, but I don't know what brand/type to get - there is albacore, and chunk, and of course a lot of different brands. The only thing the recipe specifies is that it be packed in olive oil. What would you guys recommend?

I don't have a specific brand that I use. It's more that I like to buy the one that's from either Italy or Spanish and they have always been packed in olive oil. This method hasn't failed me yet.

I have had good luck with Tonno Genova.

I have good luck with Tonno Genova too.

I just buy the white tuna. Not brand specific: whatever's on sale.

Trader Joe's has great tuna in olive oil. I think it's made by the Tonno Genova folks, but I'm not sure about that.

I also like Tonno Genova.

The very best canned tuna I have used is FLOTT, Solid, Light Tuna. It is packed in olive oil, packaged in Sicily. I discovered it while visiting Seattle.

I love to use Zoe Ventresca Tuna. It comes from the belly of the fish and is super flavorful and doesn't dry out when you cook with it. I buy it at Whole Foods.

I'm eating the trader joe's brand right now on top of a cucumber & tomatoe salad - it's not too oily, not to fishy, and the can has big chunks (not all minced and mushed)... I give it a thumbs up

just call me Ross Perot. I, of course, meant tomato.

@ juliebean:

or Dan Quayle...

Yeah! Wasn't it Dan Quayle, and wasn't he attempting to spell, "Potato?"
Talk about a trivia whiz - and I am not even American! Getting back to topic, I will look for Tonno Genova here in Canada as (sob) we don't have Trader Joe's.

If I'm not eating the tuna in olive oil, I like Trader Joe's Albacore. To me it tastes like the canned tuna from Chicken of the Sea from years ago. Nice white tuna flavor, not too fishy, not too watery. Can't eat Chicken of the Sea or Starkist any more.
