Seeking a 1984 Bon Appetit Yule Log Recipe
I know this may sound like a rather odd request, but a very important woman in my life has her heart set on finding a copy of a recipe for a bouche de noel/yule log from Bon Appetit in (I believe December) 1984. Is there any way that someone has this recipe kicking around?

i'd suggest going to your local library and checking out their archives.
otherwise, perhaps scout around bon appetit's website?
or contact them directly to see if they have any old back copies?

I couldn't find one of their old recipes online once, so I just emailed them a request for it and they actually sent it. Give it a try.

I subscribed during those years and when I couldn't keep up with all the issues I thought I had to save, I went through them, tore out the articles & recipes I really wanted or had prepared and put them in a binder. I know I saved Buche de Noel recipe along with others in my collection. Four years ago I did recipe research on Buche de Noel and typed my final choices into a composite recipe using Bon Appetit, Nick Malgieri's Perfect Cakes cookbook and other cookbooks in my collection. Now I can't find the original article you are needing. If contacting the publisher isn't productive and you'd like my composite recipe, post back and I'll get it to you.

ILike Smokey07, I contacted them for a recipe that was published in the late eighties and they sent me a copy via snail mail. It took some time, but they did send me the recipe.

I actually might be able to help with this! I have Bon Apetits dating back to 1981 -(I have a bit of a pack rat problem with cooking magazines.) If I have that issue I will gladly post that recipe for you.

I have a Buche de noel recipe from December 1983 Bon Appetit , featuring Jaques Pepin. I am desperately seeking a bourbon pecan pie reciped from about the same time. The Buche is long but I could scan and send a pdf .
