Serious Efforts: making bread at low temp?

Posted by BananaMonkey, September 17, 2009

Hi Eaters,

So, my oven appears to be quite tempermental. I'm a renter, and have been assured that a new one is coming 'soon'. This morning, I completely forgot about it's issues and went ahead and mixed up a loaf of bread dough. Problem? There's a good chance that when the loaf is ready to bake in a few hours, the oven won't budge above 300 or 325 degrees F.

I normally bake around 375. Is there any way I can salvage this effort? FWIW, it's a multigrain loaf w/50% whole wheat flour.

Thanks!
