Pricey Providence, RI
Hi all! My boyfriend's parents are coming to visit and take us out to eat. Somewhere expensive. TWO somewhere expensives. :) Any suggestions in Providence? Branching out to Newport would be a-ok too. So far I think we have Al Forno in the first slot, and perhaps Gracie's?

My absolute favorite is New Rivers. They serve incredible food made with seasonal, local ingredients. There's also La Laiterie in Wayland Square. They're known for their delicious cheeses, but the rest of their food is amazing too. Those would be my top two choices if I were lucky enough to get taken out to two expensive restaurants!

I've only been to Providence once, but we went to a place called Cuban Revolution there. Check out the menu--if it's the price range you're looking for, it's a pretty good, and somewhat different, restaurant.

Looking at the menu again, I guess it's probably not what you're looking for, sorry. But you should definitely still check it out at some point, it was very good. Hope that helps!

I had great experiences at Gracie's and Chez Pascal. For something a little more relaxed/cozy, I second La Laiterie. (IIRC they only take reservations for groups of 6 or more.)

Excellent! La Laiterie has been added to the list for sure. I'm a little hesitant about doing La Laiterie + Gracie's or Chez Pascal just because they sound like somewhat similar establishments. Is that wrong?
