My Breakfast of Champions – What is yours?
I am a big fan of a big breakfast and I like to try things out of the norm as often as possible. SO… the Sweet and Spicy Breakfast Burrito was born.
Sautee onions and peppers in pan with garlic and red pepper. When they are soft pour pancake batter over top. Cook through and sit aside. Cut a couple jalapeños in half long way and roast them. Fry a couple slices of bacon and a couple of over medium eggs. Toast tortilla. Put the pancake on the tortilla, then the bacon, eggs, and jalapeños. Few dashes of Tabasco. drizzle maple syrup over all of it. Wrap that bad boy up and enjoy.
You might have to skip lunch.
Does anyone have an unusual breakfast that you enjoy? Please share.

Christel's Ideal Breakfast fulla-energy:
- 2 cups of plain quinoa (high in fibre and protein)
- 2 tbsp drizzled honey (I prefer wildflower amber)
- Sprinkled cinnamon
- 1 banana; sliced (potassium)
- 1/2 cup wild Canadian blueberries (antioxidants)
- Tall glass smoothie with blended: strawberries, peaches, OJ, bananas and wheatgrass
I have a hard time eating dessert-type things in the morning so your Spicy Burrito sounds stupendous happyeats. I'll keep that combo in mind :)

Peanut butter french toast. Make a peanut butter sandwich and french toast it. Top it with over medium fried eggs and dig in ;) Sometimes I put raisins in the sandwich too.

I just had apple-blackberry pie with vanilla ice cream.
Fruit for breakfast is very healthy.

A proper English. Eggs (poached, fried or scrambled) with thick-cut bacon and proper sausages, sauteed mushrooms, and pan-fried potatoes, with lots of buttered hot toast. Some like stewed tomatoes or baked beans added. I do not. And don't get me started on the evils of blackpudding...
Served with a hot cup of tea (milk, one sugar) and a glass of juice.
You can't eat it every day, of course, but it's a lovely holiday treat.

Waffles with peanut butter and honey instead of syrup

I am trying to do a 30+ mile (round trip) commute a few times a week, and I've quickly discovered that I can't wait to get to work to eat. Most successful pre-breakfast so far was this morning - ezekial bread with a substantial amount of black bean dip. I had oat bran, a banana and soy milk when I got to work.

Health Breakfast
1 Cup Raw Oatmeal
1 Cup Fat Free Vanilla Yogurt
1 Cup Natural Apple Sauce
1/2 Tsp. Cinnamon
Mix it all together and let it chill over night. The next morning the oatmeal will be soft. Eat it cold and if you like with some fruit on top. This stuff keeps me from feeling ravenous until lunch.

I usually have two breakfasts... tehehe. Like today I had my homemade granola at about 7:30 and then I had toast with ricotta at about 11.
My favorite breakfast is bacon and eggs with toast and fresh cut fruit on the side. I find that bananas (especially apple bananas) are the best accompaniment to bacon.
Favorite brunch is eggs benedict. Eggs poached to medium please...
yayfood at 3:49PM on 09/09/09
@yayfood: have you had eggs Anastasia?
Replace (or add!) smoked salmon with the bacon......heeeel yeah!

In the morning alI want is chai tea latte. Breakfast at dinner of champions varies, too much to list. But lately it has been biscuits and country gravy (lots of gravy), a couple fried eggs, sausage and/or bacon, crisp hashbrowns and some fresh fruit, all washed down with a spicey bloody mary.

A nice british rail strength pg tips tea, and a nice toasted bagel with boursin cheese mixed with horseradish, fresh chiff'd basil, roasted garlic, and toasted shaved pistachios spread thickly on both slices!

Fresh homemade scone or a crumpet with peach preserves, sausages, grapefruit half splashed with Chambord & either great tea or strong dark roast coffee.

M-F, between 5 and 6 a.m.--a three-inch piece of baguette cut in half lengthwise, a pat of butter on each half, and two mugs of coffee with barely enough cream to lighten it to a caramel color and a tablespoon of sugar in each cup. Yes, a tablespoon. If I'm not working, I have oatmeal or shredded wheat (the original huge unsweetened pillow) with the grandkids at about 8.
Weekends are a whole 'nother story. Anyone want to start a weekend breakfast thread?
betteirene at 12:05AM on 09/10/09
I forgot--thanks, Martini Me. I'm going to try this.
betteirene at 12:06AM on 09/10/09
@betterirene I am so in, but mine will be Breakfast at dinner. I don't get up before 1p on weekends anyways.

2 multigrain waffles , poached eggs set on top, with a dot of butter on each :)
doulamona at 8:45PM on 09/11/09
On Sundays now that it is football season again, I first go for a bloody mary.
Then either eggs benedict and hashbrowns or sausage gravy and biscuits. Only problem with the B & G is that I fall asleep about 30 minutes after I am done eating.
