It was, as Tony described the recent "street foods" episode, a clip show.
They recycled old clips with a bit of new commentary ("Remember the time Zamir ...") and called it a new episode.
I think the broadcasters have gone to great lengths to recycle/make an episode register as "new" to hook more viewers and trigger Tivo and DVR programs set to record all new eps. Even 60 Minutes does it. ("When we first broadcast this report last fall ...)

I think Tony has had his day.

His Montana show was off the chain, and I really loved his rust belt one, too--both were as good as my favorite two of all time: Cambodia and Laos.
Bourdain done? I don't think so.

He didn't answer nearly enough questions. The clips were too long - I would've been happier with more, short clips rather than the long re-hash they put together.
I'm excited for next weeks episode though!

I agree with more short clips and more questions answered would have been better.
However, I personally cannot get enough Bordain. I've probably seen every broadcast episode at least three times and I'm tearing through his books. Highly looking forward to every new episode.
It is the TV highlight of my week, and the only show I record to my DVR. (Scattered amongst my wife's collection of "sex and the city," bleh.)

I missed it what happened?

I think the economy has put a major crunch on an already surprisingly-underfunded show. He does seem to be "seeing America" quite regularly this season.
@pj - it was essentially a "clip show" disguised as a "Burning Questions" show.

Oh okay thanks.

It wasn't great, but I didn't hate it.

this was the one where they went to buffalo, chicago, and detroit, right? it was a rerun from a week or two ago. they have done a lot in the US this season, I was wondering if that was just the theme for the season, or they were out of money

Bad Sign! Management has already dropped it on the priority list - Bad Sign!

The Montana show was one of the best I have ever seen. Simply unbelievable images, stories, and music!

He is trying to keep more of that money in his pocket. Always happens. Producers my ass, they don't produce anything. Their title should be "Reducer", especially when it comes to production budgets.
