How to make frozen yogurt?
Hi everyone! Hubby and I want to make homemade frozen yogurt but every time I've tried to make it (we have a cuisinart ice cream machine) it turns out icy and gross. I want something like you used to get at TCBY... a nice chocolate or vanilla. Any suggestions/ recipes? Thanks bunches!

Have you tried adding alcohol?

I had this same problem and have your exact machine. I finally figured out that I needed to use plain Greek yogurt and a splash of alcohol. Here's a recipe for mango blueberry frozen yogurt.
I've also made a chocolate version by melting chocolate with the simple syrup (about a half a bag of dark chocolate chips), adding a couple of bananas to the blender (they keep it creamy) and Kahlua instead of rum. DELICIOUS!

no idea, but man-you just took me back, mentioning TCBY!
do they even exist anymore?

No, sigh... all that is around our area is the skinny dip (a not very good pinkberry knockoff). I'd kill for some TCBY. :-)
Thanks for the alchol suggestions... will try it this weekend with greek yogurt.

I had been thinking about fro-yo here lately! I dont make any of that..but I eat tons and tons of regular yogurt and ice cream.. is tre a really good fro-yo from the freezer section?

I expect you could add cream instead of using greek yogurt, or of course drain your non-greek yogurt. You've got too high a proportion of water to other ingredients.

This doesn't quite fit what you've asked for (TCBY-style), but it is a fantastic frozen yogurt recipe:
