Favorite Eateries and Bars in Astoria NY
Hey Everyone,
Just wanted to know what your favorite Eateries and Bars are in Astoria NY. I recently found a new place called Sweet Afton on 30 Av and 34 st. http://www.apolloscred.com/2009/09/sweet-afton-new-eatery-and-bar-in.html. After visiting places such as Sweet Afton, which has the best burger in NYC, and Dutch Kills, I am looking for further suggestions on places worth my time. What are your favorite places?

Djerdan Burek on 31st has very good Burek - flaky and satisfying. They also have great desserts like kadayif. It's not so much a sit down place - you order at the counter and either pick a table or take out.

BZ Grill for gyros. http://bzgrill.com/ 27-02 Astoria Boulevard, at 28th Street. Great gyros made from real pork and not that weird processed meat log.

Vesta on 21st St/30th Ave. It's a small Italian wine bar. The food is always amazing and the people who work there are so nice and welcoming.
I gotta get to Sweet Afton - everyone keeps raving about it.

I've been to Vesta and I Love the fact that they source most of their food locally including the roof top grown lettuce they get from Brooklyn.

Bare burger down the street from Sweet Afton has ammmmmmazing burgers. Love love love Sweet Afton. Blackbirds on 30th and 41st st is one of my favorite bars, they have great beer and fantastic food. Even though it has a stupid name Winegasm is a great wine bar, thats on 37th street and Broadway. I always enjoy Brick cafe, 33rd st and 31st ave, for a chill dinner and a glass of wine.
But seriously, for burgers, try Bare Burger, it is out of this world great.
