did my topic get deleted?

My "Lunch with a coworker..." topic is no longer here. was the topic inappropriate?

Anyway, to those who commented to the topic, thanks for your helpful advice! I think I read up to dbcurrie's comment before it disappeared.

I didn't see it, but unless it was shill, it's kind of not cool that it was deleted. People say all kinds of controversial/offensive things on this site, so I can't imagine how a work related topic would be inappropriate.

It appears you did. I can't quite figure out why though. There was nothing in it that was the least bit inflammatory. That's just weird. Maybe it was pulled in error. I'd certainly like to think so, because the other option would be a bit too troubling.

SE pulls threads if they aren't on topic, not just if they're offensive. Usually they email you to tell you that the thread is pulled, and why. But sometimes the emails are a bit tardy in arriving if whoever pulled the topic has too much going on.

Reprint it I want to comment.

I wondered at the time if it was off topic, but decided in fact that it was a very common dilemma around eating. No more offtopic than, say, "is HINI going to affect your dining in restaurants."

I'd like to see it back up. The comments at least up to the point I commented were very thoughtful and relevant to our food lives.

The thread was removed because it was not food-related. This particular topic was a bit of a stretch in that regard.

..... hmmm now i'm curious.... did the topic pertain to "eating out"?

My curiosity is also aroused. I'm picturing all sorts of things that probably have nothing to do with the actual thread, though.

hm, I thought it would be ok because I have seen many topics about etiquette/interpersonal issues regarding parties/potlucks/food gifts... oh well.

That sucks. I see non-related food stuff all the time here. Like the one where someone started a thread called "whats up with all these one word postings?" or something like that.

I thought it was a common food dillema you were facing...sorry

hmw0029 would you email me the question?

@pjracz10 yes, what is your email address?

@joylissa--- I posted the thread you had a problem with; didn't see a comment from you there.

@hmw002--Maybe it was the "topic" you posted under? So sorry this happened. Heated discussions, sharing recipes, the one person who will never be happy, the one who always is, it's like a holiday gathering every
time we visit!

Hooray for SE and Ed Levine!

@donnie--actually I did....look again & I didnt have a problem with your thread at all. Thats why i said I've seen similar postings that were not necessarily about food. My comment was i like this site the way it is. That it always makes me laugh.
