What would be your last meal?

Sesame seared ahi tuna with a soy sriracha dipping sauce
Ribeye - cracked pepper, salt, garlic - Pittsburgh rare
Grilled asparagus - pepper, salt, olive oil
Mashed potatoes with creme fraiche
Strawberry shortcake

Cioppino, two crunchy tacos (one lengua, one chicken) from the taquería across the street, my mom's pound cake w/ macerated strawberries, and a growler of good beer.

A couple of Dick's Drive In cheeseburgers.

Or that. I also want that.

Weird life history begets weird food history: Sugar-Soy braised lake turtle (Chinese), Butter sauteed Abalone steak with the abalone liver (French), Lemon mousse with fresh blueberries (Mom's)! Maybe not the best combo but definitely my life's food highlights.

Beef Wellington with extra truffle, side of brussels sprouts sauteed with duck confit, served with a really nice cabernet.

my great grandmothers recipe for aglio olio -- with the broth from fresh parsley, garlic over nice pasta .... sharp pecorino romano and hot pepper flakes..... i could eat at least 3 bowls of that.

Rare lamb chops with Steven Raichlen's saffron orange sauce. Ikura sushi. A bottle of Gundlach Gewurtztraminer. Truffled mashed potatoes. 1 Big Mac and a slice of blueberry cheesecake.

can't really settle on one meal, but i know i'd like to eat it in paris.

Probably that pizza, bottle of white wine, panna cotta and shot of espresso that I had in Naples on my honeymoon. Recreate that and I'll die a happy chick.

A Big greasy burger with lots of bacon and salt
A Spinach salad with hot bacon dripping dressing and hard-boiled eggs
tuna sashimi
Papa's Goulash
Cucumber-dill salad
Borscht with extra dill and extra heavy cream and crusty bread

....as per my profile :)

start with fried calamari, then my mother's eggplant parmiggiano, which is the best in the universe, alongside some pizza--REAL pizza, thin chewy crust, lots of black spots, and the best fresh mozzarella in the universe, luscious sauce, and a brick oven!! For dessert, a simple cannoli.

Born Italian, die italian!

A bite of each of these:
Bo Ssam and Pork Buns from Momofuku.
Cheeseburger with bacon, lettuce, cheese, mayo.
A runny egg with toast
Dad's chicken curry with super-thin, melt-in-your-mouth Jawari ki Papads
Buttery, flakey parathas
A nice red wine
Dairy Queen Ice Cream cake (I love that ish.)

Mine would have to be Pizza. Pizza is the perfect food. It would have to have all the meats and a super crust. There is noting better than a pizza with a good crust, but there is almost nothing worse than a pizza with a bad crust.

Not worrying about my figure, a fried anything fest! Some or a taste of all of the following: A piece of fish, chicken, some shrimp, that pizza on the face page, all of the dipping sauces and tartar sauce to go along with them. Jerk chicken/hot wings smothered in bleu cheese dressing. I'm thinking of other foods as I go along! This was fun to think about. I would cap it all off with a nice dry white wine, and I would die very, very happy!

Oysters, beef carpaccio with shaved fennel and capers, kipper pate on buttered crunchy toast, a cup of tea, scottish strawberries, a big glass of a secret Aberlour whisky and finally, cheese - runny blue, delice and comte.

@hungrycristel... LOL! 2 salads would be in your last meal?!

My last meal would be a parade of assorted encased forcemeats, steaks, chops and other assorted bits of animal parts washed down with plenty of beer and single malt scotch.

The only thing that would involve salad would be the truck carrying lettuce that ran me over while I waddled away from the "last" meal!

Pizza or pasta from Italy

I always love this question. We asked it to a whole bunch of food bloggers a couple years ago as well. My last meal on Earth would be a conglomeration of different cuisines: homemade chicken matzo ball soup (my grandma's), pieces of fresh salmon nigiri (as many as possible), a bowl of steamed mussels in spicy tomato sauce, a bite (slider maybe) of the juiciest burger ever, and finally, a sampler platter of Thanksgiving. :)
