This can't be real... can it?

My apologies if this was covered before:
"KFC is now offering a "sandwich" which consists of bacon, two kinds of cheeses and sauce between two pieces of fried chicken. That's right, fried chicken as a bun instead of bread. "

I'm getting a stomach ache just thinking about it.

Does Paula Deen now work for KFC?!?

Oh shit I can't wait to try it.

@hungrysailor - ha, ha, you made me LOL. Wouldn't it more likely be Guy Fieri - have you seen the stuff that boy puts away on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives?

Um. wow.
I especially love how the article begins with:
In the midst of a staggering obesity epidemic in the US...

"Double Down"?
more like "Double Bypass"

On a more positive side: I bet it tastes pretty effing awesome.

I haven't had KFC in about a year. Mostly because I don't have one on my standard travel routes but also because I think that out of the 11 secret herbs and spices 8 of them are salt. . . I always need to drink massive amounts of water after consuming even one piece of chicken. And my fingers get swollen.

Lest you think I'm sensitive to salt, I eat condensed chicken noodle soup out of the can with no water, suck on those chicken bouillon cubes, drink pickle juice, and can polish off an whole bag of pretzels or chips in a sitting and not notice it the way I do after just one chicken breast.

That's not food.

It's healthy ... because there are no carbs from the bread, right?

Do corn byproducts have carbs? Check out the ingredients in their "chicken": http://www.kfc.com/nutrition/pdf/kfc_ingredients_june09.pdf

And we're worried about using lard to fry french fries?

Do yourself a favor and avoid the chain.

I would have to go the extra mile and add mashed potatos and /or stuffing, loads of gravy and top off with either raspberry or cranberry sauce, man I can't wait to try one of these.
@PumpkinBear You are so right, high five.

Sounds low-carb to me. Must be diet food.

I think it sounds awesome. Does that make me a bad person?

That could also be interesting if two pieces of fish.

I think my heart just skipped a few beats, UGHHHHH. Why do companies continue to manufacture this C&#P!

Because people buy it.

My boyfriend would totally eat this. He loved their weird Rockstar boxed meal that was enough for like, five people, but marketed for the consumption of just one. He's also a really big fan of Pizza Hut or Dominoes (or whoever the hell) does those bread bowl pasta things. He has shit eating habits, but I love him anyhow.

@ag3208 - I thought of fish too! Freshly breaded and pan-browned whitefish (talapia, or even some pickrel) with a nice homemade tartar relish sauce, red onions....deeeeevine

It's just a variation on the Fatty Melt, which is a hamburger with grilled cheese sandwiches for a bun. It was invented by one of the bloggers at A Hamburger Today. I hope KFC is giving him royalties.

I haven't had breakfast, so this new KFC mutation and the Fatty Melt both look better than they should.

Not really sure what to say but...eeewww.

Damn! I hope the hell Popeyes Chicken is taking notes!
