NYC food writers' group

is anyone interested in joining a writers' group with an emphasis on food writing? I live in upper manhattan and would like to start a small group consisting of maybe four to six people that meets on a regular basis. the format would consist of bringing current pieces to meetings for reading and critiquing.

What are the qualifications and goals? Do you need to be a professional writer to participate or is it more for constructive criticism?

i'm not a professional food writer. i like to write and i like to write about food. i think that some of my work is potentially publishable. i've been in writers groups in the past and have found them to be stimulating and motivating.

This sounds interesting...how often would you want to meet?

I think this is a great idea and I'd be very interested as well.

how about once a month to start? where do people live? i'm in washington heights. and are saturday afternoons workable?

That works for me. I'm in Greenpoint.

do you know the newsbar on university place, between 12th and 13th? we could meet there.

that sounds fun. I have a lot of ideas about what food writing should and should not be, and I like to write (and of course like food). I would definitely be up for joining - sounds fun.

Should we start coordinating the details via email? I can be emailed off my website which is in my profile.

so sorry. some things have come up that i wasn't expecting. i'm going to have to put this off for now. thanks for your interest. perhaps we can do it in the future.

no problem cybercita
