French Dip Sandwich in NYC?
You guys,
Have you found a decent french dip in NYC? Or, Brooklyn? I'm from CA and have been seriously wanting to sink my teeth into tender roast beef between two toasted slices of bread and dampened by savory onion-beef dipping broth.
If you have ever been to Cold Springs Tavern outside of Santa Barbara (where I'm from), that's what I'm thinking of.

I'm a sucker for the french dip at Houston's. Sure it's a chain, but it's really tasty.

they have a beef brisket french dip sandwich at psilakis' gus & gabriel which i had and was reallllly good (plus, SE reviewed it and said it was good. isnt that enough?)
if you go, don't do what i did and get tons of appetizers. i went with 6 ppl, 4 of us shared 3 appetizers (i ate the least of the 4 ppl), then each had a main, and 3 of us shares 1 dessert...i could not move. really. i had to move my belt notch by 1...and i was wearing a skirt (meaning its kinda stretchy, i guess...then again it was a pencil skirt but i digress!)
if you DO go, i highly recommend getting the mexi mac & cheese as well as the beef brisket french dip )

Thanks! Both look a little pricey but I will definitely keep it in mind. The mexi mac and cheese sounds awesome.

Try the Waterfront Alehouse on 2nd Ave & E31st. I've seen it on their menu along with their Texas dip. And while I have yet to try it, most everything on their menu is tasty and not too pricey.
Plus, you can wash it down with any one of their hundreds of beers.

Awesome. They have a restaurant near me in Brooklyn so I'll definitely try it!

I'll second two that have already been mentioned -- Houston's French Dip is just downright sick, as is the one at Waterfront Ale House.
