Sunday night dinner for a medium-sized group

Hi y'all,

I need dinner recommendations for a Sunday night going-away dinner for a medium-ish group, 8-10 people. Moderately priced since my parents will be paying for all of us (thanks parents). No real food issues but fish/veggie options are a must as I have some semi-vegetarians in the group. Any type of cuisine acceptable! Prefer Manhattan, as most of the guests live there.

Thanks so much for your help!

is there an area of the city you want to be in? what is moderately priced? there lots of options just need more information to assist. also check out chowhound.com if you haven't already.

I highly recommend Beyoglu on the Upper East Side (81st and 3rd). It's turkish/mediterranean place that has great atmosphere and great service. I definitely remember there being several vegetarian options too. I actually took my parents there for dinner when they were visiting and they loved it...and the price. There are lots of small plates and appetizers, but we also got oversized entrees for only $15. It's great!

@Goldilox: actually ate there a few weeks ago with a friend. Really enjoyed it! Wanted to try something new before I left the city, though, however thanks for the recommendation!

@jaf: Doing lots of research but always like to hear what the serious eaters say. Moderately priced means trying to keep entrees around/below $20. Either that or a place where lots of things can be shared. Am fine with anywhere in the Manhattan, particularly anywhere in East/West Villages, Hell's Kitchen, and UWS.

the smith has a beer and burger special on sunday nights and it's definitely well priced.

How about Uncle Nick's in Hell's Kitchen? Really good, authentic Greek food - wide selection of small plates and entrees. Order their huge Greek salad for the table, a couple of mezzes for sharing, and also a great selection of wines.

what about otto? there is plenty of room for a pretty large group, you can make reservations, and the food is easily shared. there are a lot of good vegetarian options as well, but fun delicious things for meat eaters.

Whenever I'm in the city I go to Becco in the Theatre District/Hell's Kitchen area. They have a prix fixe menu for like $22 per person that includes either a caesar salad or antipasto and unlimited helpings of their three daily pasta specials. It's delicious. And a great value.

for the UWS, there's saigon grill, carmine's, campo, havana central...all decent sized and priced. there's a nick's (italian food. good pizzas and pastas) on the UES too.
