Lunch Ideas for 10014?

Hi! I work in a weird area between Tribeca/Soho/West Village on Hudson Street between King and Charleton, just South of Houston Street. I am having major trouble finding good luck spots! There are some fast food chains and a handful of delis, but the only real options seem to be a long-ish walk away on Bleeker street. Anyone been in my shoes before, or have ideas for some good lunch ideas in this area? I usually bring food from home, but some days there's just not time...

City Winery? but that's a bit expensive for a routine lunch place. Spunto on Carmine isn't quite all the way up to Bleecker... Umm... Blue Ribbon's little bakery on Bedford just south of Downing, delicious with reasonable prices... Out of the Kitchen at Hudson and Leroy... If I were you, I'd probably just eat cookies from Jacques Torres everyday. : )

I also work in that neighborhood. I like Amy's Bread or Murray's for sandwiches. Walk up Hudson--a few blocks up there's a delicious panini place called El Panino. Right next to that is a place called CeCe's that makes delicious soups and salads. Be warned--El Panino is right next to a school, and it's always swamped with school kids! We order from Olive's (the Thursday special sandwich is the BEST!) or Grey Dog a lot. When I want a quick, cheap salad, the "Hungry Lion" is our fave place...it's on Varick, right next to NYSC (it has a giant lion in the entrance). Also, I like the soups and sandwiches from Deb's on Varick...they make a mean egg white and cheese on a croissant for breakfast too. But really, nothing beats Jacques for coffee in the morning...don't go to Starbucks! Jacques also makes amazing croissants to go with that delicious coffee. And as the commenter mentioned above, Out of the Kitchen is pretty awesome too (I like their chipotle turkey avocado sandwich, and they have the BEST B&W cookies).

Thanks for your suggestions!!

Those are all really great ideas.

I am tempted to eat cookies from Jacques Torres everyday, but I try to resist :) I forgot about the Blue Ribbon bakery, and am really excited to try El Panino too.
