lookbooks vs cookbooks

i started a thread over the weekend and someone mentioned a cookbook that he/she owned, but never cooked from, which got me thinking about my own 'lookbooks'.

the biggest one off the top of my head is my copy of 'the french laundry' -400 pages of porn that i'll probably never duplicate in my kitchen.

on the other hand, the cookbook i use most often would have to be 'the joy of cooking'.
what about you guys?
