I need name ideas for my cooking blog
I am very much the amateur cook. Today I first saw what condensed milk looked like and it scared me. I'm starting a blog to document my new hobby. I want to become a good cook. So I'm going to try. But I need to think of a cute name.. that's where you guys come in :)
Right now I have an idea.. but I need another word for amateur cook. My idea is "Confessions of a..." and amateur cook doesn't really sound good to me. Any ideas would be helpful. Thank you so much!
Melissa

If you search the history on this topic you'll see that lots of people post on here looking for names for their blogs. We don't know you very well or what it is you're cooking, so suggesting names is difficult.

I'd love to help. While some people might gripe about threads like this, I think its fun! And I think we pretty successfully helped "The Ravenous Couple" get a good name.
The best way to do this, however, is through some more dialog.
What kind of food do you cook? Is this about healthy food? Fusion food? Comfort/homey food? Local? Do you only cook or do you bake as well?
What's your favorite food? Will this blog include restaurant reviews? Recipes? Useful kitchen tips? Are you in a particular locale? Do you want to use your name?
There's a lot to think about. Don't let this intimidate you, though. Pick something that really stands out to you and let us know what ideas start flowing. Once you get a general shape of your idea, it's easier to say what we like.
That being said, I don't like "Confessions of a ..." By now i think its overdone and I dont see how it ties into being a cook anyway. "Amateur" to me just means "not professional".... so a lot of people are amateurs. It doesnt automatically mean inexperienced or unlearned or unrefined. I'd rather it be something more specific to your newbie status.
"New to the Kitchen" perhaps.
Final tips about names: make it memorable, easy to spell and not too vague. Alliteration, rhymes and puns are nice, but only if they dont get easily muddled.
Shoot back another comment with your thoughts. We'll see what we can brainstorm!

here are a couple i came up with using synonyms for amateur:
adventures of a kitchen rookie(though this almost sounds like you've got a job at a restaurant)
gourmet dilettante
also, i like the word novice, but i can't seem to put it to good use.

I totally copped out on mine- I called it Cat Boy's Kitchen because I am just that lazy.
I agree that "confessions" is being used a lot as it is. I'll say this much, that line "I saw what condensed milk looked like and it scared me" should be under your title as a tagline. I think it perfectly sets the tone for someone who is new to cooking. Pure gold.
I don't have any real suggestions, but I keep thinking a blog that poses a food or equipment question might be a good choice. Something like "What's a Non-Reactive Pan and Why Do I Need One?"

I like a lot of nightowl's suggestions.
One new thought that came to mind.... do you want a name that will "grow" with you? If you are a newbie now, but won't be later.. would the blog name still fit?
