Don't get between me and my Häagen-Dazs

Just got home from a tough day at work, haven't eaten much all day and I put some water on for pasta. Boyfriend asks what I'm fixing for dinner. "Ice cream," I say, partly in jest, as I head for the freezer. "Don't do that," he says. "Don't eat a bunch of crap just because you're stressed." Now, I could see saying that halfway through the carton. I could see his saying something if I ate ice cream every night (and this is actually frozen yogurt, not ice cream). But given that I'm healthy, I ran 4 miles this morning and rarely eat ice cream, I say get out of my way and let me have my Häagen-Dazs. I hate when people comment on what I'm eating!

I think I will comment LOL. Have a decompress day.

I sympathise! tell him I'm not asking you to eat it, shut the F*** up and get the hell out of my way. sometimes you HAVE to have that junk food. It beats popping xanax anyway.

I was super stressed and frustrated yesterday so my BF took me to Cold Stone. He knows me well.

screw him! men should really know better than to get between a woman and her ice cream. go ahead girl, do what you want :)

Don't get between me and my popcorn, or anything else, actually. That's a really good way to lose an important limb or two.

i would have thrown that pint at his head so hard that it broke his jaw.

wow we are a viscious bunch! lmaoo I knew i loved ya'll for a reason!!!

Devil's Advocate:

"Boyfriend" is unlikely to have said anything unless he A) has seen a pattern or B) is a jerk. If the answer is A, you might want to consider the validity of his comment. If the answer is B, why are you living with him (assumed that you do live with him because he was already there when you got home from work)?

Every now and then my SO will have a bag of potato chips as a meal. I don't tease. There are days when I just want a big piece of chocolate cake or a big bowl of ice cream. We are generally healthy eaters so I don't think of it as a bad thing since it's so rare.

Sometimes you just need to indulge.

@gastronomeg- You are soooo wrong, why waste a pint of ice cream on him, I would used a something else to throw lol. I eat what I want and when i want and if someone doesn't like it....they simply can go to hell.

I don't see anything wrong with dessert for dinner. I enjoy just having dessert by itself--I don't get the point of dessert after a heavy meal. Honestly, there are far worse things you can have than ice cream--ice cream has calcium and protein, and even fruit sometimes, and frankly on a super-hot night I think it's healthier to have than a heavy honking lump of meat.

My friend saw me in line at Kroger with a box of Tampons, a huge bottle of Advil, and three pints of Ben & Jerry's. She just nodded at me and smiled sympathetically. I probably could have just put the Advil back, because sometimes the only cure is ice cream.

@pjracz10: oh, i'd just pick it up after it bounced off his head and eat it, while he writhed in pain.
