Alfajores
I've recently had my first taste of Alfajores from a friend who brought me some from Sabores del Sur (http://www.saborsur.com). Since Sabores del Sur is up in the San Francisco Bay area and not readily available for purchase locally in Los Angeles or online, I was wondering if you can recommend a great recipe for them. Or better yet, know where I can get my hands on them in Los Angeles.

Don't have a recipe but this brings back memories -- I lived in Buenos Aires for a year in high school and alfajores were my favorite snack. Un sandwich de dulce de leche cubierto con chocolate!

they are ever so easy to make. I found a recipe on mattbites.com
I was a bit dissapointed as I was expecting a shortbread type cookie rather than the cakey one.
