Recipe/Shipping Ideas for China
I have a great friend of mine that is one of my department's Chinese counterparts in Shanghai, and she recently learned how to knit, and sent me a beautiful scarf and hat. Her birthday is coming up in July and I wanted to send her something that I made, but the problem is that I bake and cook, and so I wanted to send her something like that, but I am not sure what I could send or how I could do it.
Obviuosly, cakes are probably out of the question, and although I have made fudge before, I don't want to repeat myself. So far, my ideas are brittle or turtles, but I was wondering if anyone here might have other interesting ideas.
Also, aside from the usual packing material, does anyone know of any good way to post the items to her? I ask this, because I have also thought about cookies, like gingersnaps, which would probably hold up better in shipping, but I want to make sure that if I do that that she doesn't end up with crumbs.
I would love to hear any suggestions!
