Los Angeles - Near LMU
I am attending a conference next week in LA at Loyola Marymount University and would love some recommendations for good places to eat near there. I may or may not have access to a car, so walking distance recommendations would be ideal. I would love to experience some of the things LA is known for, especially great Mexican food/taco trucks. Thanks!

hmmm, i don't know any places super close to there... but if you get a chance to get out to the hollywood area there's an awesome and cheap thai restaurant sanam luang (cash only) on hollywood blvd. and for an awesome coffee/latte go to tiago on hollywood blvd (they brew each cup fresh) or the bourgoise pig on franklin (it has themed rooms)

If you have a car you can get to great Mexican at Tacomiendo, about a mile and a half from LMU. (4502 Inglewood Blvd., Culver City, CA 90230)

Unfortunately, LMU is parked in a total suburban neighborhood, but if you head due west to Lincoln Blvd, there are several restaurants on Lincoln between 83rd and Manchester: Italy's Little Kitchen, Chicago for Ribs, Tower Pizza, and a Bristol Farms grocery. If you head north on Lincoln, there's a Pinkberry in the Playa Vista neighborhood, at the base of the LMU bluffs. And on Sepulveda, just north of LAX, is the closest In-N-Out in the area.
For more L.A. burgers, if you have access to a car, head a little further north on Lincoln and you can get to The Counter in Marina del Rey, Father's Office in Santa Monica, or The Apple Pan in West L.A.

Yes, sits up on a bluff and I would suggest getting a car, at least for a few days if you want to explore some good eats. Also, in Culver City is Ford's Filling Station and I think the Kogi taco truck frequents Culver City too. To find the Kogi truck you can go to their website and they list were they will be all week, locations and times.

There is nothing walking distance from LMU, but if you walk to the edge of campus (Lincoln Blvd) you can catch the #3 Big Blue Bus, which will take you either north towards Marina del Rey/Venice along Lincoln, where you can get pretty much anything (including Antica Pizza, recently reviewed on SE and rated top 10 in the US), or south towards LAX, where you can get some in'n'out as a previous poster mentioned. If you take the bus North and get off at Rose, you can walk west to 4th st, where there is a taco truck (weekdays only) that serves EXCELLENT and FRESH ceviche tostadas.

I'm with everyone above. There's not much near LMU as it's trapped in a residential area. But Venice Beach and Culver City are nearby and you can grab public transportation to a number of locations. http://www.bigbluebus.com/busroutes/
Don't miss Brennan's for turtle racing and beers. Yes, you read that right. Turtle racing.

Or if you'd like a fun divey bar, Prince o' Whales is a local coed hangout. (Or it was when I was at UCLA) Be warned. It is VERY divey. :) But those are the best kind.
