Looking for good Deli or Pizza in Orange County,CA
Lots of great food in Orange County, CA. but lacking in good delis and pizza. Where can I go to get a good slice or a great corned beef sandwich ? There are great Chines,Mexican, Barbecue, Japanese , Thai and other ethnic restaurants out here. I could use some help. Peter Wilensky, Orange County, CA.

It's been a while, but Mustard Delicatessen/Cafe in Irvine/Newport Beach is pretty nice. There may be additional locations in the OC too.

Thank you so much, I will try it out. When I get a chance to go to LA, I visit Cantors on Fairfax Ave. Its always worth the visit. Peter Wilensky, Orange County, CA>

Regarding Pizza, I would recommend Roma D'Italia in Tustin. It has been there 40+ years and is consistently strong (I may suggest asking that your order the pie well done if you want crispier crust). Pizza Pete's in the Newport / Balboa Fun Zone has solid NYC style pies (I like the pies better than the slices as they are fresher). Cool old time beach atmosphere as well. Domenico's Belmont Shores (just outside of OC) has been great for decades as well. There are plenty more, and while OC is a far cry from NYC or Chicago, it ain't all bad!
As for the deli request, that is a bit tougher. Arnie's Manhattan Deli near John Wayne airport is OK but inconsistent. Jerry's Deli near South Coast is the same, but has days where it is pretty good. Benji's Delicatessen on Tustin / 17th in Santa Ana is the best I have found and has been there for decades. Enjoy!

I tried Benji's several times and did not like it but its been many years and I will give it a try again. As for pizza, I like First Class Pizza in Villa Park, CA. Their pizza are heavy and loaded with delicious toppings. Their prices are considerably more than the regular take out pizza places. Peter Wilensky,
