I prefer Keste (and I think the rest of the Serious Eats office would agree).

First: It's Luzzo's. (Ed Levine here in the SE office always makes this mistake and it's become a bit of a joke around here.)
Second: KESTE. KESTE. KESTE!
Luzzo's crust is flavorless. I just do not understand why people laud this place.

I love Luzzo's, but I love Keste more.
And I hate Una Pizza Napoletana because every time I've been there (three) they have been beyond rude. Their pizza is excellent and so they think they can get away with being (insert expletive here). Well, not with me they can't. I'll take my money elsewhere. To Keste!
BTW, Motorino is killer, but it isn't in the East Village...but just a few stops on the L!

If it's not too late, I would definitely recommend you hit Keste or take Cupcake up on her Motorino suggestion if you have the time. I've yet to eat at Luzzo's, but a couple of times I headed to UPN, I stopped in to see what the fuss was all about. I could tell just by looking at their pies that they are not of the quality of Keste, Motorino or UPN. However the last time I stopped in, the waitstaff were extremely engaging and very charming. It might be worth me trying their pie just for that reason. What can I tell you? I guess I'm just a sucker for a black chick with an Italian accent.

Thanks All.
Just returned from Keste and it was a big hit. 6 of us split 5 and it was plenty. We had
2 Margherita, del Re, Salsicca, Vegatariana
We all thought it was great. Crust around the middle was firmer than anticipated.

Wow, I'm really surprised to see all the love for Keste here. I had an awful meal there. Three pies, three misses. Crusts were undercooked and lacked personality, sausage tasted more like flavorless chopped meat, the Keste pie came to the table lukewarm at best.
Salads were good, but I don't go to pizzerias for the salads. :)
