This guy is funny. Found it on YouTube. He would be great on a Food Network show

Oh great, another Guy Fieri. That's what we need.

I watched. Congrats to the guy, but I can also live without the GF look a like.
Wish him well, but he needs to let his Susie Fogleman 'Food Personality' come out on it's own instead of emulating someone else.

And that is just my two cents.

WOW!! Thats harsh. I am nothing like Guy Fieri. Yes, my hair color is the same, but thats all. I have been coloring my hair off and on for about 12 years. My cooking style is different and I dont wear any jewelry.

No not harsh - objective observation. 2.29 minutes into the you tube video - there's a shift in your appearance. Spiky blond hair immediately brings out subconscience images of Guy. I have no doubt your cooking is different, matter of fact from what I hear, it's probably a whole lot better then GF.

Wish you well! Your success will be determined in how well and consistent you market yourself. And in my opinion you're off to a great start. Hang in there and keep pushing.

Cool. Thank you. I changed my image because my "agent" told me I was not very recognizable. So I went back to my college days and changed the hair color and put the diamonds back in the ears. I have gotten the "are you guy fieri" or the " you look just like the guy in the Fridays commercials" a lot. In grocery stores and at social gatherings. It's a 50/50 mix on the people that like him and hate him. I think he's alright. I don't watch his shows, but I have seen a few of them over the past two years. I know someone who is married to one of the producers of Next Food Network Star and he has met Guy numerous times. Says he's a guys, guy. Hits on all the women. I thought Guy was married. Anyhow, thank you for the gracious comments. I am tryin my best to make this a career. Who knows. Maybe I need "red hair" lol

You're on the right track with an agent. It's all about marketing. If you want some additional resources I have some friends who are in Public Relations as independent consultants. Their focus is on getting people into the limelight.

I googled you and got immediate hits, that's a good thing with Search Engine Optimization.

I am going to send you a twitter follow request. So we can take the conversation off this board. I don't want to reveal my true identity on the board. Are you on LinkedIn?

Im confused.....did you just post a video of your self claiming to have just "found it on youtube"?

@blankplate, that's exactly what he did. lol

So, let's see, you just found yourself on YouTube and thought you were funny. Points off for that. I'd prefer some honesty. Like "this is a promo of me on YouTube and I'm looking for feedback."

I agree that the Fieri hairstyle is a bad idea. Whether you wore it that way before Fieri came on the scene doesn't matter, it's going to look like you're following in his footsteps, and you're going to be compared to him. And it doesn't suit your appearance. Like or hate Guy, the hairstyle fits his head and his personality. It may fit your personality (which I have no idea about, based on the video), but it's not working all that well on your head.

Oh, and the comments about him and women did nothing to make me like you any more. I don't care who you know, or if you know. The fact that you decided to gossip doesn't win any points with me. I doubt the networks would find it appealing either.

As far as the video, I still know nothing about you or your cooking style, it was mostly just chit-chat, giggling, and more of other people than you. Nothing about you being funny, either, so pushing people there with the idea that there'd be humor probably works against you. I can say for sure that I don't at all like the video style. It reminded me of a promo video the company I worked for did 20 years ago. Or maybe a late night infomercial.

Overall, I see a guy who could do a regional cooking show, or cooking/demos at stores or county fairs. Maybe you could do a show on Food Network, but I really don't see anything in this video that would make me want to tune in.

And another thought -- the fact that the video had clips where people are commenting about your hair -- not good if you're trying to pump the cooking aspect. And the fact that the first two comments here were about the hair, and you get comments on the street that you look like Fieri should tell you something.

Whether it was a conscious effort to look like him or not, it's a losing situation for you. People who like Fieri will say that you're a poser and you're not as good as him. People who don't like Fieri will think that you're trying to be like him, and they won't see past that. It leaves you with no audience of your own.

Yes, you have to be recognizable, but you aren't succeeding as being recognized as yourself. You're being recognized as the guy who looks like someone else. Find a look that's your own. And it doesn't have to be about hair.

if you're pretending to find someone on youtube and recommending this funny guy (when really it's you), you should at least keep your identity consistent in the same thread that you posted on.

WOW!! You seem very upset and angry. And you posted a lot of times. You must have nothing better to do. And whether you watch is of not concern to me. You are obviously not my audience anyhow. And the video, just so you know was done for a major talent agency firm which will remain nameless and they loved it!! You obviously don't know anything about a highlight reel or a promo video. Thats ok, most people dont. The hair stays. And people like it. So what if every now and then someone thinks I'm GF. Thats an honor. That dude is the king of marketing. You may need to find another hobby. Just sayin. You don't know the first thing about what your writing. And thats ok to. By the way, I never wrote "I just found this on the internet" that may have been someone else. I did however put the video in this blog and asked for opinions. I put it in a few blogs. Mostly good responses. Your actually the only negative one. And as they say, any press is good press.

megannesta, that is not what I did. Pay attention to the blog.

Ribster... I would love to chat. Follow me on Twitter. Chef_MiltDrewer

By the way, my comment was in response to "dbcurrie"

I am new to all this blogging stuff, but I love food. So I thought I would check this page out. Big "RR" fan. Love her on the Food Network and also her daytime show. I watch her everyday, sucks she is in re-runs for the summer:( I just watched this youtube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0z_IPF9dTZk and not sure why there are so many people hating on it. It's not the best produced video, but it's not that bad either. I remember this guy from the season he was on "RR". And he was very enjoyable to watch. All it seems is that he wants to do what he loves and get paid for it. Why not... If your reading this post Chef Milt, I liked the video and i watched some of the other that you have posted on youtube. Keep it up and good luck.
