Dr. Dre pimping Dr. Pepper?
Dre just lost several badass points in my book for appearing in a soda commercial. Last time I checked, selling HFCS wasn't very gangsta.

I have a weakness for Dr. Pepper. Yeah, yeah, I know soda's bad for you and I avoid the non-diet stuff like the plague (even though the diet's just as bad), but Dr. Pepper is grossly delicious.
He's pimping something delicious for a fat wad of cash- and probably laughing all the way to the bank and not giving a fuck what anyone says or thinks. That IS gangsta!

You can't end up disillusioned if you don't start off with illusions.
Ask anyone of my age who hears the anthems of our rage from the 60's played in elevators now.

The awesome part is that if anyone doesn't need the money, it's Dr. Dre (his going production rate is $1M/track). I'm actually betting he did it more for the exposure than anything else - the commercial features a track from his upcoming (2010) record. Also, you should trust him. He's a doctor!!

LOL - People will do ANYTHING if you pay them enough.

the one i can hardly stomach is gene simmons.
maybe dre will include the single 'straight out of carbonation' on 2010?

hey, at least he isn't making a bunch of kids movies like cube. straight out of compton came out 20 years ago and he still gets plenty of respect (and still will now).
the only reason i'm a little surprised to see this is that he is loaded by now between his royalties, production, and whatever he gets from eminem, 50 cent, etc. i think producestories nailed the reason he did it -- cross-promotion (although i'm still not convinced that detox will ever be released). i'm glad he's at least doing ads for a good soda and not vanilla coke or some such garbage.
and, yes, hfcs is gangsta!

If I have to drink a HFCS soda, it sure as hell won't be Dr. Pepper. Faygo however....

@Nursie LOL That is the truth...the music of my childhood is elevator music!! It makes me cringe.
