Anyone tried fried peanuts yet?

I know they're frying everything these days from pickles to Snicker Bars but it was still shocking to find convenient stores in my area selling fried peanuts in the shell. I finally bought a bag of Cajun fried peanuts but really wasn't sure how to eat them. I asked the clerk and she said you're supposed to eat them shell and all. Well I did just that and it wasn't too bad but I guess it might take awhile to cultivate a taste for those crispy shells. Some guy in Charleston has a blog on fried peanuts and he suggests that you only eat every third shell???

Haven't tried it yet, but they sound good, I have to hunt some down.

I discovered them about a year ago and they're awesome! I wish that more stores sold them.

Sounds interesting, but I don't think I'd want to eat the shells even if you're supposed to. lol

I don't fancy eating the shells, either - but, they would be high in fiber alright! I might try some when I am in S.C.

Haven't seen any with the shell still on, but the fried peanuts I've tried are AMAZING!! Crispy, salty, just oily enough to make you feel like you've had a naughty treat...

I'd certainly try those, but I don't think eating the shells is a good idea, even if you're "supposed to." That kind of thing can cause an indigestible ball of fiber to form in the gut if eaten too often. Scary!
