Agave Expiration Date?
I have a bottle of agave nectar that I think may be pretty old. Like...maybe from 2005. Should I toss it? I can't find an expiration date on the bottle. What do you all think?

I'm not quite sure, but the last time I bought agave nectar I was told it had a 2-3 year shelf life.

taste it... if it tastes fine, just use it. if it gives you the creeps, then toss it. Buy a new bottle, it's not that expensive...

If you've had it that long, it sounds like you don't use it enough to be worth the storage space. Toss it and don't buy another bottle. Or taste it, see if you like it, and make it a point to use it up, then decide it it's worth buying another bottle.
Me, I don't like the taste, and when I had a bottle I only used in when I knew the flavor wouldn't come through. When the bottle was empty, I decided that honey was a better choice for me, since I like the flavor.

2-3 years, I'll keep that in mind ! I will see how it tastes, but yes, maybe I should just buy another bottle. I bought it during an experimental "no white sugar" phase, which was short-lived, but now I think I am going through one of those phases again...

It never lasts long in our house. We just keep refilling bottles from the tap at the co-op.
