Im going to be going to boston for a weekend getaway and am wondering where I should eat?
Its just me so Id like places that are going to be OK dining solo. I want to hit a couple iconic boston eats as well as some more local places :D
Im staying in the Beacon Hill area and would like to know whats around there or close enough I could take the T or bus to another spot if its worth it? any help would be greatly appreciated for this traveling foodie!!!

you definitely need to visit faneuil hall also called quincy market. all kinds of shopping, bars, entertainment. a very nice food court inside. if i go to boston for the day i always go there.

i love going on a hot day, there is always some kind of performance going on in front. there is a pottery/glass store in one of the shops that has walking tour maps. you can walk to cheers and the theater area. it's a very nice day trip. also to the right of the boston aquarium entrance, there was a awesome mexican rest. where i had the best mustard/honey dressing. i don't know if it's still around, but it's very close to the market.

Right in lovely Beacon Hill is 75 Chestnut, a comfortable tavern with some real good comfort foods...and Figs, right on Charles St., one of Todd English' original spots. Great pizza and pastas with all the trimmings, though the space can get a bit tight.
If you can leave town a bit, visit East Coast Grill in Cambridge, a bustling eclectic spot that draws quite a crowd. I would even recommend trying to get to upscale Blue Ginger in Wellesley, homebase for celebrity chef Ming Tsai and his modern pan-Asian cuisine. His version of rack of lamb is terrific...

I've recentley eaten at Beacon Hill Bistro which I found delightful, right on Charles street.
Across the street from the Bistro is Figs--Todd English's pizza restaurant, and the arugula pizza there is to die for.
If you want a more causal pizza joint, Upper Crust is also on Charles street and might be a good lunchtime food.

Get a seat at the bar at Neptune Oyster in the North End.
Get half a dozen oysters and a Lobster Roll.
(i prefer the warm one there, but the cold is also lovely)
perfect evening.
