Suggest good cheap food near Javits Center (11th Ave & W. 30s)?

I'll be at the Javits Center from Friday to Sunday this week attending the Book Expo. Can anyone recommend good places to go for good cheap food - all meals likely - in the vicinity of 11th Avenue and the W30s?

Thanks!

Daisy May's BBQ, 46th && 11th...

Ollie's Szechuan, 42nd & 10th...

pizza suprema at 8th and 34th - i think there was a discussion thread about it recently on this website. i like the mushroom and onion pie. fresh veggies, delicious sauce, good crust.

also burgers and cupcakes on 36th and 9th. burgers are decent and the carrot cupcake is good for dessert.

If you like diners, check out Tick Tock on 34th and 8th. Good chicken sandwiches

I've heard rumors that BEA has a pretty excellent crepe stand. It's my first year so I can't confirm, but I'll be on the lookout!

La Luncheonette on 10th! Also, a bit farther north, Landmark Tavern on 11th.

I'll respectfully suggest the Skyline Diner as an alternative to Tick Tock. Had a really mediocre sandwich at Tick Tock when I visited there (granted ti was not the chicken sandwich. I've only had breakfast items at Skylien btu it has always been very good.

if you want upscale but casual Irish Pub food try Tir Na Nog on 8th about a block or two down from the Tick Tock.

@phaelon56: Actually, I just recently went to Skyline and will agree that it's a good option too. The fries were really fresh, the chicken portabella wrap was big and tasty and the wait staff was really nice! And, since it's closer to Javits, I stand (or type, I should say) corrected.

manganeros hero boy at 37th and 9th.

I'll second Tir Na Nog...it's a small, relatively upscale Irish pub with decent burgers, salads, and sandwiches. The bar itself is really small (6 seats, maybe?) but it's definitely comfortable for dining solo. It's almost at the NW corner of 8th Ave and 33rd St, diagonally across from Penn Station. www.tirnanognyc.com
