Steamfresh frozen veggies -- anyone tried them?

Has anyone tried these? I've never bought them, by MIL showed me a bag when she had us over for Memorial Day. "I don't know what these are, but I bought them," she said.

What they were was mush. Or actually one degree past mushiness to mooshiness. Nearly schmooshy. Blech.

Now, I can't blame the veggies until I have more evidence. My MIL isn't the best cook on the planet, so she may have contributed to the demise of that dish. But really, aren't you just supposed to pop the thing in the microwave? How is it possible to mess that up? Or are they really that bad from the start?
