I used to watch Food Network- a lot, but not anymore. The station's turned to crap, but I'm trying to remain faithful to Ina Garten, whom I adore.
I work as a freelance writer and am trying to switch from working all night, to working all day. So far it's going ok. I usually take a break around 5 p.m. for a snack and to catch the Barefoot Contessa on FN. They seem to show nothing but repeats, so I've started watching a new show on Lifetime called "Cook Yourself Thin," which features a former Top Chef contestant. I can't recall her name, but at the time she was in culinary school and got into a fight with the sommelier on the show and called him a troll. Anybody know what I'm talking about?
Has anyone seen this new cooking show? It's pretty cheesy and the premise is questionable: drop a dress size cooking healthier versions of foods you already eat, like brownies, chicken pot pie, twice baked potatoes, etc.
What do Serious Eaters think of it? I don't give it much longer before it gets cancelled. The women who host it don't seem like the brightest bunch.
