Anyone know where to find some quality pork butt in Brooklyn? Makin' pulled pork this week...Also, any idea how much it usually costs?
Thanks!

I went to the market here in the UES and they butcher kindly explained why I would be more likely to find them 'uptown'. He said they buy in bulk and are lucky to sell half of what they get in an order. IOW, they end up throwing alot out and losing money. try a latino neighborhood that is likely to consume the meat.
Or go to the yuppie places suggested above. heritage/organic/local etc. is great, but pork butt ought to be cheap (think i paid 1.59/lb)

I live in South Brooklyn and the "Meat Market" on Smith St. has it. Shouldn't be more than $3/ $4 a pound, can't remember. $2/lb?
Hope that helps.
