Passion. Ambition. Butter. THE MOVIE

I finally saw the preview for this movie last night and I have to say that I'm extremely intrigued! Care to share your thoughts fellow eaters?

Here's the IMDB profile

I'm intrigued by the storyline, but particularlly intrigued by Meryl Streep! She looked and sounded just like the queen Child herself! Here's a picture so you get what I mean.

Anyway, yeah I'm a food nerd that's really excited about this!?

Yep, looks like a winner. Besides, it's a Nora Ephron film. She HARDLY EVER gets it wrong. Should do well with critics and audiences alike. Looking forward to it...

Looks adorable...

"My Life in France" was absolutely inspiring. I have to say though, when I heard about Powell's book, I thought, "How original. Another person trying to do something for a year to get published." But this really does look cute and Meryl looks very convincing as Julia Child in the trailer.

Meryl Streep looks so much like Child it's crazy! She's really been getting some great roles lately...

I think Julie Powell was one of the first "do something for a year"-ers. Her book is good. I like the story a lot more than the writing, though, so I'm really excited about the movie. Plus the cast is fabulous.

the julie/julia project is still up on salon and still gets lots of hits every day, although it ended years ago. it's one of the most entertaining blogs i have ever read. i highly recommend it.

I really liked the book and I like Powell's blog. The movie looks like the casting was done very well and I'm excited about it.

I broke the news to my husband this week that this will be a film for which we will actually pay the ridiculous movie theater prices. (Usually, we rely on Netflix for out movie watching experiences.)

Not to point too off topic, but I always thought that Powell's blog *started* the whole do something for a year/ cook an entire book thing, at least, in the world of food blogging.

And it was great material, as she's got shrewd insight and a killer sense of humor, and I look forward to dragging someone to the movie.
