Michelin-starred restaurants in Paris - any recommendations?
So, lucky lucky me, I'm in Paris for a month and can't quite afford a 3-star Michelin restaurant for dinner ( I do have shoes to buy as well!).
I'm thinking of having lunch at a 2 - 3 star restaurant as many offer a significantly cheaper set-price lunch menu. I'm tossing up between Taillevent (old-school French, recently demoted to 2 stars), or Le Jules Verne ( Alain Ducasse, Eiffel Tower, view for days).
Has anyone been, or know anyone who's been to either of these, or have any other recommendations for me?
Merci Beaucoup!

joel robuchon- either l'atelier for the full-on hedonist experience or le table for a smaller, more fun feel.
i don't think l'atelier is open for lunch though? even though i've been to his restaurant in new york, i HAVE to go when in paris.
la tour d'argent is also a classic.
have fun!!!!!

I was at Jules Verne for lunch almost 3 years ago, before they did their recent re-vamp, and it was incredible. Definitely the most memorable lunch I've ever had. I would definitely recommend it!

Go to Ze Kitchen Gallerie. It's only got one star I think, but my mom has eaten there and says it was phenomenal, and I have his cookbook and lover everything I've made from it. The food is heavily influenced with Thai and other southeast Asian flavors, emphasizes lighter fare, seafood, fresh seasonal veggies, and exotic fruits and spices.

Merci Beaucoup!
I've read about Ze Kitchen Galerie, but I'm thinking more traditional French food, so maybe Jules Verne.....and then maybe I'll squeeze in Ze Kitchen Galerie as well. Decisions decisions......

1 month in Paris - wow! Fantastic!!!
I have heard mixed reviews about Jules Verne, and had a very bad experience with them, myself. But, I have heard nothing but wonderful things about Le Grand Vefour at the Palais Royale. We almost went, and I regret that we didn't. It was so lovely when we strolled by. From what I understand, the service is beyond extraordinary, and you really feel like royalty while you dine, which is what happens when service is tip-top.
For the best views in Paris, go to Tour Montparnasse, and eat elsewhere.
I have a lot of great Paris ideas and reviews on my blog, if you are interested.
Cheers,
~ Paula

Merci Paula, I actually had Le Grand Vefour top of the list a while back, but I'm thinking about re-instating it now. I do so like to feel like royalty.
Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at Le Jules Verne.... paying all that money must leave a really nasty taste in one's mouth!
